Holy Ghost Control

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (2 Co. 6. 14-17).

I read Pastor David's blog, in which He was writing about the necessity of giving the Holy Ghost full control. In his essay, He quoted John 1.16: And of His fulness have all we received. Pastor Dave wrote, "The Holy Spirit is not fully received until He is fully in charge. We simply haven't received Him if we haven't given Him complete control."

The Lord gave me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, as He promised, in Ep. 1.17. I asked Him for revelation concerning the first chapter of Ephesians. In vs. 18 - 21 we read of the infinite power we, as believers, have in Christ Jesus. Vs. 19 declares the power toward us to be the very power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at God's right hand. There is no greater power than that!

But we can't have that power if we present ourselves as some blemished sacrifice unto God. It's simply a contradiction to reserve for ourselves some manner of sinfulness and expect, on the other hand, to be filled with the Holy Ghost and wield the power that raised Christ from the grave.

The Holy Ghost impressed upon me the importance that you are His inheritance. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's (1. Co. 6.20). You are His holy temple. The Spirit of the Living God dwells in you. Shouldn't I have some manner of respect for God's temple? The Bible declares the fulness of His power rests within.

After Pentecost, the fulness of God's power was clearly in the disciples. The promise of Jesus was we would do greater miracles, if we would believe. I've been asking the question for nearly 32 years now. Why is it not evident now? The answer some give, "It was only for the first century" is neither satisfactory nor scripturally acceptable. To go that way is a lower form of criticism which caused this country to fall to the depth of sin and condemnation it is now in. The above answer is not of God.

The answer is in giving the Holy Ghost complete control. We can start by praying, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done."

I'll be glad to read any other answers.

The Holy Spirit Will Lead You

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (Jn. 16.13).

There is an infinite amount of knowledge our Lord wants us to know. He has promised the Holy Ghost will lead us into all truth. For that matter I have asked Him to help me know three things this week:

1.) Prayers of the saints and incense on the Golden Altar of Incense and the transition of it from the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place.

2.) The link between free will and predestination.

3.) The exceeding greatness of His power is in us, the saints. Please know and understand, the power of Almighty God is in you, Beloved. You can move the mighty hand of God in prayer, yes, but simply convince the Father to grudgingly move his hand? No! His power to us and in us is as great as that which caused Christ to rise from the dead and be seated at the Father's right hand.

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places (Ep. 1.18-20).

Now that blows my mind. I need the Holy Spirit to help me understand that.

The point is, we have tremendous wealth in God's economy. Don't you know that material wealth is of the beggarly things of the earth? Sure we need to pay for things and money is needed to support missions (which I hope you do). We need the true wealth which can only come from the Father of Lights. Wealth that is above all power, rule, principality and every ungodly spirit in the spiritual realm.

The time is short, the summer is nearly spent. we must let no one, as far as it is within us say, we are not saved.
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved (Je. 8.20).
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (Jn. 16.13).

Prayer for the Church

I'm taking this time in prayer to put down on cyberspace paper the actual things for which I am praying. Specifically, what I believe to be the perfect will of Christ: To seek and to save that which is lost. As I approach the throne for intercession, I call out to the Most High God to save those who live in my village. That is about 266 souls. Since I often go a little farther than the 3 mile confines of this village, I meet hundreds of people from surrounding towns, states and countries. I lift my prayer to the Lord for the salvation of those, even as I look into their eyes. Since my sphere of influence is only in the hundreds while 6.5 billion souls are on earth, I request the help of the Church.
My prayer, O God, Most High, is for the Church to diligently seek your face and be used of you, even for the reason you came. She must be a Church of prayer. She must follow the lead of prayerful leadership. That is pastoral, music and teaching leaders. Are they given to prayer and the ministry of the Word? If prayer is minimal, effect will be minimal. I pray, O God, cause prayer to be the primary function of the Church. Minimizing prayer minimizes all ministry.
O God, let those who pastor the churches be more given to prayer than anything else. Let sleep never be more precious than prayer. Convict, O God. Coax them into the prayer closet. Post your angels about them for their protection in that time of prayer. Let their times of prayer be sweet, transfiguring and powerful to move your mighty hand on earth.

How Shall We Proceed?

To the question, "Why even bother going to church. They all seem so dead."
I will say, "Indeed, you speak of the church of Sardis (Rev. 3)." We have a purpose and this can only be done in the power of the Holy Ghost.
Jesus taught us to pray: "Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done." When we do this, and make the prayer real in our lives, God will use us mightily in any situation we are in. The thing to remember about the churches is, there are some who have not defiled themselves. The Lord's call is to strengthen those who remain (faithful). Many will not listen, but some will.
I left church Sunday, wanting to wretch. The resistance to the Holy Spirit of some who just want to do their good works, be intellectual and believe that is the Lord, just sickened me. I still have to be loving to them. I have to be repentant.
The important thing is, there are some who can be strengthened and can be strong and do exploits.
The eyes of the Lord still run to and fro throughout the earth searching for a people He can show Himself great in. Consider a great investment has been made by Him in you and He expects return with interest.

God's Presence Removed?

After having visited a Bible Church yesterday, I wanted to wretch.  The unbelief among the members is so strong, God cannot be heard nor experienced among them.  The presence of God is not there.
Oddly, most of the members have been studying the Bible for years.  There seems to be pride in knowledge.  Each person enjoys his chance to pontificate what he knows.
My question is this:  Is God speaking at all in the present time?  Is there anything for us to know concerning the ensuing weeks, months and years.  Another question.  When was the last time you were concerned whether you were going to be able to pay recurring costs of living?  Is there anything we should know about how we are to live, or do we ignore current events and enjoy what we can for as long as we can, giving no thought for the future nor taking responsibility for anything more than each person's own pleasure?
How can I find a place of corporate worship where God is present?  Could God be present in any local church?  Should each individual diligently, daily seek fellowship with Christ in solitary prayer to make any kind of impact on what we call church to invite the Holy Spirit in our midst?
